In early 2022, Dorsey & Whitney’s pro bono team sent an email to its hundreds of attorneys nationwide calling for volunteers to help families in Afghanistan.
After that call for volunteers, Jennifer Block, a senior attorney in Dorsey’s Des Moines office, logged nearly 570 pro bono hours helping families flee the dangers in Afghanistan.
One family, in particular, is a family of 9 who Jennifer recently helped bring to Des Moines safely in February and May of this year. In response to her incredible efforts, KCCI News in Des Moines honored her with a “Project CommUNITY” award and featured her story on August 18, 2024.
