The case was referred to us once the judge realized that the defendants, native Hmong speakers with no experience with the U.S. legal system, needed counsel. After our pro bono team got involved and filed a summary judgment motion, the insurance company quickly dropped its lawsuit, which had stemmed from an unauthorized, one-time use of the defendants' car by another.
