Dorsey & Whitney LLP is proud to announce that Briana Al Taqatqa and Lanai Alexander have been recognized by Minnesota Lawyer for their outstanding contributions to the legal industry. Briana has been named an Up & Coming Attorney, while Lanai has been honored as an Unsung Legal Hero.
As an Up & Coming Attorney, Briana has demonstrated a remarkable ability to navigate a rapidly changing legal environment, defending employers against employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, and handling complex business competition cases involving breach of contract, restrictive covenants, and misuse of confidential and trade secret information. She has also made significant contributions by organizing client and community events focused on menopause-related workplace issues, including guiding employers on how to create a “menopause friendly” workplace. Her participation in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinders Program (#LCLDNation), designed for attorneys from diverse backgrounds, underscores her commitment to fostering diversity within the legal profession. Briana’s engagement in mentoring and professional development, particularly in addressing communicating across differences, has positioned her as a key leader within Dorsey.
Lanai Alexander, recognized as an Unsung Legal Hero, exemplifies the essential, behind-the-scenes roles that ensure the day-to-day work of the legal profession is done efficiently and accurately. As the Digital Processing Center & Administrative Supervisor at Dorsey, Lanai has demonstrated exceptional leadership by managing a team of entry-level business professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and recruiting and developing new talent to strengthen the Firm’s administrative functions. Her contributions extend beyond her administrative duties, as she actively participates in the office’s activity committee, organizing events that boost team morale and create a positive work environment.
Both Briana and Lanai will be honored at an awards luncheon on Friday, September 20, at The Luminare in Minneapolis.
