We represented IEEE, working closely with the IEEE Legal and Compliance Department and its senior management, in its acquisition of GlobalSpec, a leading source of news, data and analytics for the global engineering and technical community, including the widely known brand name Engineering360. This was the first ever acquisition of a for-profit enterprise by IEEE, which is structured as a not-for-profit organization.  The new for-profit subsidiary, named IEEE GlobalSpec, will significantly complement IEEE’s already broad offerings for engineers as well as its emerging position in research analytics. The Dorsey team drew from talent across multiple practices and offices to help IEEE complete this strategic transaction.
