Dorsey & Whitney LLP continues to expand its Phoenix office and its nationally recognized Government Solutions & Investigations (GSI) group with the arrival of former Assistant United States Attorney Andy Stone, who is joining the international law firm as a Partner.
“The arrival of Andy Stone advances the strategic growth of the firm’s Government Solutions & Investigations group by growing our white-collar defense and government investigation capabilities,” said Beth Forsythe, Partner and GSI Practice Group Co-Leader for Dorsey. “Andy joins GSI partner Seth Goertz in developing a strong presence for our group in Phoenix, while Margot Laporte also joins Dorsey as a GSI Partner in Washington, DC, further strengthening our strategic international capabilities there.”
Andy comes to Dorsey after nearly ten years as a federal prosecutor at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona, where he rose to one of the senior-most roles as the Chief of the Financial Crimes and Public Corruption section. Andy investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of white-collar crimes, including fraud related to healthcare programs, investments, securities, businesses, tax, and cyber. Prior to Andy’s public service career, he spent six years practicing commercial litigation at Snell & Wilmer.
Andy received his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from Northwestern University.
“Andy is a fantastic addition to our team in Phoenix,” said Scott Jenkins, Dorsey’s Phoenix office head. “His record of success as a tenacious prosecutor and litigator makes him an ideal fit for our White Collar Defense and Investigations and Trial Group. We are continuing to add key talent to our team in Phoenix, as demonstrated by Andy’s arrival and the recent additions of GSI partner Seth Goertz, Real Estate partner Brad Wright, and Finance & Restructuring partner Kate Moore.”
“I am excited about the opportunity to join Dorsey and contribute to the firm’s work across the country and in Arizona,” said Andy Stone. “I am proud of my services with the United States Attorneys’ Office, and I look forward to helping our clients navigate their criminal and enforcement challenges.”
