Two partners from the New York office of law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP assumed firm-wide leadership roles in April 2019. Prominent international lawyer Catherine Pan was named to the Firm’s Management Committee, the seven-member executive body that advises and assists the Managing Partner in the administration of the Firm. Partner and Global Private Equity Practice Group Head E. Eric Rytter was elected to the Firm’s Policy Committee, which serves functionally as the Firm’s Board of Directors.
Ms. Pan is a widely respected corporate attorney focused on cross-border transactions. In her new role on Dorsey’s Management Committee, Ms. Pan will focus on strategic business growth with an emphasis on cross-border matters for U.S. and international clients. Ms. Pan is also the Corporate Group Head in the Firm’s New York offices and a Co-Chair of Dorsey’s globally recognized U.S.-China Practice Group. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and also holds law degrees from China and Sweden.
Mr. Rytter is well-regarded internationally for his business acumen in advising clients in matters ranging from M&A strategy and execution, to financings and corporate operational matters. Mr. Rytter has extensive experience representing private equity sponsors in the U.S., as well as sponsors based in the U.K. and Europe, in particular with respect to their portfolio investments in the U.S. His educational and professional background make him a valuable advisor to his clients in reconciling market practice in different jurisdictions. Mr. Rytter holds law degrees from Columbia Law School and Cambridge University, where he served on the Board of the Faculty of Law. Mr. Rytter’s entrepreneurial leadership style, international background and experience advising private companies will be valuable assets as he joins Dorsey’s Policy Committee, which sets the firm’s strategic objectives.
