California is the most populous state in the United States and the fifth largest economy in the world. Understandably, many growth-focused banks desire to expand their footprint into the Golden State.
This presentation will analyze several of the alternative approaches that non-California banks might consider to enter this important market, including mergers, branching, interstate deposit and lending, the use of subsidiaries and similar strategies. Among other things, important provisions of California laws and regulations will be identified.
