Overview
Michael is a transactional attorney who primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, as well as providing outside general counsel services for his clients. Additionally, Michael is experienced in helping start-up businesses get on their feet to set themselves up for success.
After graduating law school, Michael, a Minnesota native, decided to bring his “Minnesota Nice” to Boise, Idaho. Before working for Dorsey & Whitney, Michael was an associate attorney at a firm located generally in the Pacific Northwest as part of their business law group. When Michael is not immersed in his legal work, he enjoys watching baseball, along with other sports, and exploring the various landscapes Idaho has to offer.

- Represented an asset purchaser in an acquisition of a local bar/restaurant in the Treasure Valley.
- Represented an asset seller in an acquisition to sell a senior citizen living advising business.
- Represented an equity purchaser in an acquisition to buy a construction and concrete company located in the Treasure Valley.
- Represented an asset seller in an acquisition to sell a tile and stone company for approximately $10 million.
- Represented an equity purchaser in an acquisition to purchase a mechanical/plumbing company for approximately $35 million.
- Represented various clients with setting up funds to raise capital for their respective company.
- Represented various clients with the purchase and sale of real estate – both commercial and residential.
- Represented various clients relating to demands for payment due to nonpayment and breach of contract issues – obtained successful results and various payments.
- Serves as outside general counsel for a multitude of business entities in various states.
- Assists various clients through entity and/or equity restructuring projects.
- Assists various clients with contractual drafting, risk management, and negotiation.
