MEGAN HELPS CLIENTS WITH THEIR ENERGY PROJECTS USING HER PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE TO HELP CLIENTS FIND INNOVATIVE AND PRAGMATIC SOLUTIONS TO THEIR PROBLEMS.

Megan ensures her clients comply with federal, state, and local statutes, ordinances, agency rules, and case law and helps them assess the risk related to real property and natural resource issues. Additionally, Megan guides her clients through complex corporate contract analysis, interpretation, and negotiation.

Megan helps energy developers negotiate, secure and review land leases, easements, crossing agreements and other related real property rights required in the development and operation of a solar, wind, energy storage and conventional energy projects. 

Megan works with developers in preparing and reviewing project development plans, surveys and title insurance commitments, and in performing title curative work in connection with financing and sale transactions. Megan’s transactional expertise includes conducting complex mineral title examinations of private, federal, tribal, and state lands and the preparation of drilling, lease acquisition, and drilling and division order opinions.

Megan’s experience includes title insurance law and litigation. She has also represented clients in natural resources litigation, including disputes concerning oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, contractual matters, and matters involving liens against real property. She has appeared before the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining, the Interior Board of Land Appeals, and Utah State Courts.
