Overview
Severie began her work in public finance in 2016 as a paralegal in the Des Moines office. Along the way, she caught the public finance bug, and after enjoying her legal education is now excited to expand her role and knowledge as an associate attorney.
As an associate, Severie helps to facilitate public finance transactions through closing. She works on a wide array of municipal and private activity financings and on economic development transactions involving tax increment financing (TIF), tax abatement, and self-supporting municipal improvement districts (SSMIDs).
Severie’s practice also includes advising clients on annexation, special assessments, and bid letting.
Severie uses her knowledge of political science, real estate, and business law as a constructive background for her current work.
