As student attorney and student director for UMN Human Rights Litigation & International Legal Advocacy Clinic, Sarani addressed a committee of the United Nations on behalf of her client, and co-authored an amicus brief to the United States Supreme Court.

Sarani also supported the Mandate of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights while Countering Terrorism.
