Madeline D. Hepler

Madeline's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and strategic counseling in patent, trademark, and copyright matters. Madeline has represented clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and in numerous district courts, including those in California, Delaware, Washington, New York, and Texas. Madeline’s cases involve a range of technology fields, such as distributed antennae systems, messaging software, silicon chips, sporting goods, apparel, and consumer mechanical devices. Her experience includes assisting clients to secure early and favorable settlement of patent and trademark infringement claims, as well as litigating complex multi-patent matters from the initial pleadings stage through successful jury verdict.

From counselling tech giants to start-ups and non-profit companies, Madeline is sensitive to her clients’ varying business goals and strategic concerns. She has significant experience working directly with the engineers, employees, researchers, and non-technical teams that are integral to her clients’ business and understands the importance of their business needs in developing and executing intellectual property litigation strategies.

In addition to her litigation practice, Madeline is a USPTO-licensed patent attorney with experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and managing domestic and foreign patent portfolios in the pharmaceutical and bio-medical field, as well as structuring and negotiating technology licensing matters.
