Overview

Clarissa focuses her practice on bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial litigation.

She represents a range of clients, including unsecured creditors’ committees, corporate debtors, trustees, receivers, lessors, and assignees, in matters such as bankruptcies, wind-downs, asset sales, claim objections, and adversary proceedings. 

She has experience managing disputes across jurisdictions, particularly those involving fraudulent transfers, preferences, and breaches of fiduciary duty. Clarissa also assists clients with the sale and acquisition of assets in distressed situations, including transactions under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code. In addition to her bankruptcy work, Clarissa handles a variety of commercial litigation matters.

Experience

  • Lead associate on matter securing multimillion-dollar settlement for a Trustee in action alleging fraudulent transfer, breach of fiduciary duty, RICO, and Ponzi scheme claims against bank defendants. 
  • Assisted in representing stalking horse purchasers in the purchase of a nationwide franchise restaurant and store locations. 
  • Lead associate on matters representing lending client in bankruptcy, including stay relief proceedings, loan enforcement actions and contested plan confirmation proceedings. 
  • Assisted in achieving successful reorganization of telecommunications equipment manufacturing company in a contested confirmation proceeding.
  • Lead associate in representation of survivors of sexual abuse in enforcing their claims in bankruptcy.
