International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP is pleased to announce that Fabrizio Carpanini, Kate Francis and Tim Maloney of the Firm’s London office were recently selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom® 2023 in the areas of Private Equity Law, Capital Markets and Litigation, respectively.
Mr. Carpanini was recognized for Private Equity Law, making this his fifteenth year of recognition by Best Lawyers. His main area of expertise and practice focuses on institutional-facing private equity transactions, acting on institutional and management buy-outs, as well as development capital and buy-and-build transactions. He also advises management teams in such transactions. Mr. Carpanini leads the Dorsey London and European private equity practice, working closely with the Firm’s North American and Asian based private equity groups. He is an Italian speaker and advises both U.K. and U.S. clients in investments and other transactional matters in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Mr. Carpanini is co-head of Dorsey’s London office along with Kate Francis.
Ms. Francis was recognized for Capital Markets and has extensive experience in both equity capital markets transactions and public and private mergers and acquisitions. She acts for both listed and private companies based in the UK and overseas across a variety of sectors including healthcare, technology, media and real estate and also acts for investment banks on equity capital markets transactions. Ms. Francis’ broad transactional experience also includes advising on complex reorganisations, joint ventures, private equity and general corporate law matters.
Mr. Maloney was recognized for Litigation, making this his fifteenth year of recognition by Best Lawyers. For over 40 years he has advised clients on all types of large-scale commercial disputes and is the first port of call for key clients facing significant litigation. He helps clients navigate complex crises, nationally and globally. Mr. Maloney has extensive and wide-ranging experience litigating in offshore jurisdictions, and many of his cases involve complex cross-border issues and proceedings in multiple jurisdictions. In addition to the UK, his cases have involved litigation in the US, the Caribbean, Bermuda, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore and China.
