International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP represented Salt Lake City-based interior design, home décor e-commerce, and lifestyle company Studio McGee in a minority investment by Los Angeles-based growth equity firm Strand Equity Partners. Studio McGee plans to use the new capital to invest in its exclusive product offerings on McGee & Co., grow the company’s international reach, and expand the brand and licensing, entertainment and media partnerships.
Studio McGee, led by Shea McGee and her husband Syd McGee, is a leading innovator in the interior design industry with a cult favorite e-commerce brand, McGee & Co., brand partnerships with Target for Threshold, a New York Times best-selling book “Make Life Beautiful”, and top-rated Netflix series “Dream Home Makeover”.
