On Friday, February 13, 2015, Hamline University and William Mitchell College of Law announced that they have signed an agreement to combine Hamline University School of Law and William Mitchell College of Law to form one law school, subject to approval by the American Bar Association and other customary closing conditions. The combined school will be named Mitchell|Hamline School of Law and will be located primarily on William Mitchell’s existing campus in Saint Paul.
Dorsey & Whitney acted as counsel to Hamline University in connection with the transaction. Jean Holloway, Of Counsel in Dorsey’s Minneapolis office, became Hamline University School of Law’s first female Dean in December 2013, and was a lead negotiator on behalf of Hamline in her capacity as Dean.
