International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that it has been named a 2013 KM Reality Award finalist by KMWorld, the leading publisher, conference organizer and information provider serving the knowledge management, content management and document management markets. The KM Reality award recognizes organizations “in which knowledge management is a positive reality” and that demonstrate “leadership in the implementation of knowledge management practices and processes by realizing measurable business benefits.”

The finalist recognition specifically points to Dorsey’s recent development, partnering with enterprise search provider BA Insight, of a KM solution that could be built on top of its current SharePoint platform and provide Dorsey lawyers and staff with a powerful new enterprise search tool that leverages existing IT infrastructure. The new solution, rolled out in 2013, is called Swift. Swift requires minimal training and acts as a powerful client-service tool permitting Dorsey lawyers and staff to identify, gather and sort very quickly and efficiently all electronic information, resources, documentation, best practices forms and checklists, deal and litigation experience lists and other files stored anywhere in Dorsey’s data systems.
