A North Dakota state court jury found Cypress Development, a company that partnered with the city of Minot, North Dakota, for a downtown revitalization project, owes the city $2.44 million after failing to see the project through to the end. Cypress filed counterclaims, seeking more than $50 million in damages related to excess construction costs and lost profits. The jury awarded no damages to Cypress and found the city didn't breach the contract and didn't owe the company a duty of care.
The city of Minot was represented by Jocelyn Knoll and Kate Johnson.
