The 15 new lawyers and legal professionals join Dorsey from the Salt Lake City office of Holland & Hart. Dorsey has made a concerted effort to grow strategic practices in its Salt Lake City office, recruiting seven other lawyers to join the firm in 2017 and 2018. With the newest additions to its IP group, Dorsey’s ranks will have grown to more than 50 lawyers in Salt Lake City.

Grant Foster combines over 25 years of patent prosecution experience with extensive intellectual property litigation and trial experience. He manages significant IP portfolios for major clients relating to medical devices, outdoor products and technologies, food processing technologies, and many others. Grant is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is an AAA mediator and serves as a neutral panel member of Utah ADR Services.
Brett Foster is a nationally regarded authority in complicated and high-stakes intellectual property proceedings. His practice focuses on strategic counseling and litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition and other IP matters. He has obtained a number of multimillion-dollar jury verdicts in IP cases, including patent infringement cases, with enhanced damages and permanent injunctions that have been affirmed by the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Brett has enjoyed appellate success in cases before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Federal Circuit, the Ninth Circuit, the Tenth Circuit, and the appellate courts in Utah and Arizona.
Mark Miller has extensive experience in patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation in federal courts nationwide, and substantial experience with appeals of trademark and patent cases in federal circuit courts. Mark has also litigated patent infringement actions before the U.S. International Trade Commission and handled inter partes review proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. As a registered patent attorney, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts in Utah, Colorado and Texas, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Ninth Circuit, and Tenth Circuit.
Bryan Pratt focuses his practice on strategic patent portfolio creation and management in the United States and abroad within the mechanical, materials, and electromechanical arts. He advises clients on protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights which includes companies and brands across multiple technologies including, clean energy, manufacturing, outdoor sports, food and beverages industries. In addition to his patent work, Bryan is also skilled in trademark prosecution. He is registered to practice before the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.
